TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General Conduct
I will always be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual. I will behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
My car will be well maintained, clean and tidy. My car is fitted with dual controls and I have the appropriate Instructors insurance. I have a strict no smoking policy. I am a fully qualified DVSA approved instructor and have a current up to date CRB check.

Driving license requirements
You must be at least 17 years old and hold a current provisional or full license to begin to take lessons with me. You must be able to produce your license at the start of your first lesson. Failure to produce the necessary license will result in the lesson being cancelled, full payment will still apply. Once I have seen your license you do not have to bring it with you to future lessons.

Eyesight
You must be able to show you can read a number plate at 20 metres. Glasses or contact lenses can be worn if required. If you need glasses or contact lenses to read the number plate you must always wear these when driving.

Payment
All lessons must be paid in advance. Cash payments can be made in car.
You may pay online. This must be paid at least 24hrs prior to the lesson. The lesson cannot go ahead if payment is not received.

Cancellations
I will only cancel a lesson should a situation present itself that is out of my control, for example extreme weather, where I consider to go ahead could be potentially dangerous.
If you need to cancel a lesson you must give me at least 24hrs notice. If due notice is given the lesson will not be charged. If I don’t receive enough notice the lesson will be charged in full. If I can fill the time slot with another pupil I will not charge, this is at my discretion.

Punctuality
I will always endeavour to arrive promptly for the start of your lesson. Should I be delayed or expect to be delayed by more than 5mins, I will contact you to let you know (for example heavy traffic). I expect the same from you. I will wait for up to 15mins at our meeting point. If I don’t receive any notification that you are running late I will abandon the lesson. Full payment will be due.

Driving Test
Driving tests can only be booked by you once we have agreed you are at test standard. You can do this directly on the gov.uk website. The date must be mutually agreed to ensure I am available on the date and time selected. Driving tests take priority over normal lessons therefore your lesson may need to be rearranged to allow for someone else’s test and vice versa.
I reserve the right to refuse use of my car for test if I believe you have not succeeded in achieving the required standard of driving. I do not take to test any short notice test pupils who have not been able to adequately show me their proficiency in driving.
If you need to cancel your test the DVSA requires you give at least three clear working days notice. Failure to provide this will result in a complete loss of test fee. If I deem you are not up to test standard I will give you sufficient notice to ensure you can meet these criteria. I cannot be held responsible if the DVSA cancel or postpone your test.

Health and safety
Please wear appropriate footwear, flimsy sandals or heavy boots are not suitable. Please advise if any medication is being taken that may affect your ability to drive. Phones must be either turned off or switched to silent and placed out of reach during lessons. It’s illegal to use your phone at any time whilst driving. Just the noise of them receiving messages can be extremely distracting. Once qualified it’s important to note that if caught using your phone you will automatically receive 6points and lose your license. Yours and others safety is more important!

Complaints
If you feel there is any aspect to your training that you are not happy with please let me know. I want to provide the best training I can to suit your needs.
